Art encounter Appraisal Services adhere to the professional and ethical standards set forth in the "Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice." We strive to use accepted theory, methodology and strong ethical code therein to report and interpret our valuation findings - accurately and truthfully.

For each assignment, we promise to exercise due diligence. This entails the assiduous application of the above standards within the most appropriate market for each project, as well as valuation that is objective and fully relevant to the assignment.

Prior to acceptance of each assignment, we notify our clients of any limiting conditions--factors that might affect our ability to give an accurate, unbiased appraisal--and expect our clients to be honest and forthright in disclosing any personal limiting conditions (i.e., time restraints, ownership issues, etc.), as well as the purpose of the appraisal. Failure to do so may affect our ability to give an accurate valuation and render the appraisal null and void. In order to maintain the public trust and not conflict with other operations, Art encounter WILL NOT appraise artwork we have sold, or artworks by artists we currently exhibit or publish.

Fee structure, work schedule and the effective date of the appraisal will also be enumerated prior to acceptance of the assignment. At the conclusion of the valuation process, a signed appraisal report will be issued to the client documenting research and concluding with the appraiser's opinion of the apposite value of the appraised item(s).

About the American Society of Appraisers (ASA): The American Society of Appraisers is an international organization of appraisal professionals and others interested in the appraisal profession. ASA is the oldest and only major appraisal organization representing all of the disciplines of appraisal specialists. The society originated in 1936 and incorporated in 1952.
