Peter Lik, a fine art photographer, was born in Melborn, Australia in 1959, and is the son of immigrant parents who migrated to Australia from Czechoslovakia after WWII. Lik took his first photographs at the age of 8 after receiving a Kodak Brownie camera for his birthday. Peter began his professional career in the mid 80s. He made his first trip to the United States in 1984 traveling around the country in an old van and taking a wide range of landscape photographs. In 1989, Lik returned to the States to undertake a project to photograph landscapes in all 50 states. In 1994 Peter moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he opened his first gallery in the United States. Peter Lik has gone on to become one of the largest selling photographers in the world.
