Neal Doty

Neal Doty was born in 1941, in Glendale, California. Neal works principally in an expressionist style, though his work also includes elements of cubist surrealism. He uses textures and metallic surfaces that transport the viewer to an imaginary world. With the talent of a master, Neal creates works of art that are tributes to life, music, spirituality, and love, often executed with a heavy dose of humor. A student of color theory under the late Ben Duer, Mr. Doty was awarded 1st Place in the 1976 Larchmont Art Exhibit in Los Angeles and, in 1977, worked as a commissioned artist with Paramount Studios in Hollywood. His work has also been exhibited in New York (New York Art Expo) and Washington, D.C. (the Washington Art Fair), as well as at the Basil Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland. His paintings can be found in important collections around the world. Neal Doty’s corporate collectors include 20th Century Fox Corporate Offices, Paramount Studio, the Cousteau Society and the Graphic Arts Society and his private collectors include Elton John and Sister Sledge.
